Ok, so to set the scene I have *some* watches, but by no means am I a massive watch person. I have one home watch and two work watches, none of these are more than maybe £200 (which I consider to be alot!) and none are classic, automatic timepieces. I like watches that require little or no fussing, and look good. Simple principles really.

And with those simple principles in mind I sought to rid myself of a watch I can't really read very easily. I currently have my "brown" watch as a Rotary Chronospeed, which is essentially a homage to the Brietling Navtimer. A beautiful chronograph with a cream face. Problem being with a lack of colour contrast and being slightly colour blind, I found it amost impossible to tell the time without a long hard stare.

So I decided that clean and simple was the way to go. Bauhaus.

In steps the Braun BN0021.

This is a clean, well built and elegant watch. To try and communicate it's looks I gave thought to the type of person that would typically wear it:

Swiss Architects.

Yes this is a Swiss architects watch alright, you could take the face, scale it up and mount it on a train platform somewhere in Basel and it would not at all look out of place. Add to that the very well crafted and immediatley comfortable leather strap, the hidden pin placement and the almost perfect sizing of the face and numbers to the overall size of the watch and I'm in Bauhaus heaven.

Do I have ANY misgivings, yes a few:

1. Everyone says "Braun? You mean the guys that make razors?" - Yes, little did I know that they have been well known in watches and clocks for many a year. A good friend and massive watch fanatic steared me towards them.

2. I miss being able to check the date - I never realised how much I look at my wrist for the date, as well as the time until I can't do it anymore. Perhaps I will get used to it, perhaps not. Time will tell.

But, in truth, the misgivings are small, the design is beautiful and elegant and the build quality is faultless.

This might be my first Braun watch, but it will certainly not be my last.

Well where to start... my bf absolutely loved this watch i bought for his bday. Very manly looking and a sligtly big watch. Which is good as my bf is a tall stocky guy so suited him well. Didn't look lost on his wrist. Lovely feel to it and not too heavy. I cant believe how cheap this website is. Its about time people did deals on exspensive things like watches. From the presentation box to your arm, this is a handsome watch. Simple to set and with an overall feeling of quality. Beautiful slim silver hands which show up well against the black background and easy to read day/date. The bonus is of course never having to worry about batteries. Good value for money and a post-purchase sense of great satisfaction.

The process was very easy, I bought the watches on the Friday afternoon and they were with me the next day. The only issue was one of the watches were at the wrong time but this was easily remedied.

I’m a massive fan of military style watches, this does not disappoint, it has a crisply finished stainless case and highly polished bezel, the face itself looks like a precision measuring instrument with clean precise markings and the glass is beautifully clear and subtly domed. The strap looks utilitarian but is supple and very comfortable - the large eyes make fitting the watch a doddle. Love the clear window on the back of the case - a very nice touch allowing you to see the automatic movement. So far the watch has kept excellent time and keeps running well when not in use - This is my new weekend and evening watch being a little too casual for use in the office. Incredibly happy with it and love staring at the movement and face. I have relatively slim wrists and this watch doesn’t look ridiculous like most of the new 40+mm cased watches on the market today.
Perfect mixture of understatement, precision, form and function.
